Consumer Reports rates this product superior at covering gray so I bought it even though I'm female.It's ammonia free so it left my hair very soft and covered gray very well.The only problem is that the light brown (my natural hair color)is really more of a dark brown.My kids thought my hair looked "black."I have shoulder-length hair and there was plenty of product to color it all but I did not have any left over.Update: It's been over two months since I used this product and I have to give it more stars because of how long the gray coverage has lasted! Only a few are peeking thru.It's lasted much longer than the higher-priced L'Oreal Paris I used to use.
